The IOLTA grant committee members are appointed to three-year terms by the State Supreme Court (on Justice of the Court and two lawyers), the Center for Civic Values (one lawyer, one non-lawyer) and the State Bar of New Mexico (one lawyer, one non-lawyer). The committee meets annually in November to determine which applicants it will recommend to receive funding in the following year.
